“In the Face of Madness, rationality was powerless” is a quote from The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin. This line jumped out a me when I was reading the novel and I jotted it down as a title to be used at some future date.  When I was commissioned to created a new piece in the style of “The Vile Maxim,” (a grade 6 percussion feature also available on MartianMusic.net) I found that the title just worked with the music.
