Based on a true story.
In 1970, the Perron family purchased what they thought was their dream home in Harrisville, Rhode Island. The family moved into the ancient and mysterious Arnold Estate, but there were some secrets kept from them only to be revealed in a series of intense hauntings. In an effort to solve their spirit problem, the family turned to Ed and Lorraine Warren, noted paranormal researchers. The Warren’s consider the Perron family saga to be one of the most compelling and significant on record.
During a seance gone horribly wrong, they unleashed a spirit called Bathsheba who besieged the mother, Carolyn. The title, House of Darkness House of Light, is taken from the book published by the eldest daughter Andrea chronicling the paranormal events that the family experienced while they lived at the estate. The book was made into the movie, The Conjuring.
