ABOUT THE PIECE:
What will be your legacy? How will you be remembered? Why did you make some of the bad choices you’ve made? Can you recall the good things, the fun times, the precious memories of your past? What can you do from this point on to be good, kind, responsible? How can you inspire yourself and others? Reflect on your past with an eye on the future decisions you make.
Legacy allows you to ask these questions and more. There are tons of built-in moments for samples to be added in to help tell your story. The show is designed in 3 larger movements performed without break:
Movement 1 – The Question (beginning-1:00), The Wrong Choices (1:00-2:10)
Movement 2 – Reminiscence (2:10-3:30), The Question Revisited (3:30-3:50)
Movement 3 – Eye on the Future (3:50-5:08), Inspire (5:08-end)
“Legacy” was was conceived by Mr. Jake Tuttle and commissioned by Mr. Matt Mackey for the Franklin High School (Elk Grove, CA) Winter Percussion group for the Winter 2016 season. Image design by Stephanie Tuttle.
