By LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN
Arranged by BRIAN AGUILAR
Style: classical, romantic, public domain
Difficulty: MEDIUM-HARD (Grade 4)
Use for: Winter Percussion
ABOUT THE PIECE:
The music of Beethoven takes center court as some of his most memorable works are presented in this arrangement, including segments of Moonlight Sonata, Symphony No. 5, Fur Elise, and Symphony No. 9. Ideal for a mid-range high school group with a relatively challenging piano part. High energy and very musical, this arrangement allows a percussion section the opportunity to be expressive and still “cut loose” all within one piece.
Commissioned by Mr. Matt Mackey for Franklin High School (Elk Grove, CA) in the Winter of 2009.
