ABOUT THE PIECE:
“El Toro Bravo” is Spanish for “The Brave Bull.” This is a Spanish-style show in 3 movements, 2 of which were initially written as street percussion pieces for a junior high school line. Here they have been adapted into this very accessible and entertaining Grade 1 Indoor Percussion show with an original middle piece to tie them together. This is a great show for a first time or lesser-developed group.
Two notes with this piece:
1- there is one part for each bells, xylo, vibes, and marimba. Multiple players are welcome and encouraged on each part!
2- there are 6 (yes 6!) auxiliary parts to accommodate plenty of new and lesser-developed percussionists.
DESIGN IDEAS: Dress as Toreadors; dress in all white with red scarves to mimic the running of the Bulls; Sombreros and ponchos. Anything you like or can imagine!
