ABOUT THE PIECE:

Explore the action and adventure of medieval Spain with El Cid.  The piece is named for Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, a nobelman and military leader in medieval Spain.  He was called El Cid (the Lord) by the Moors, El Campeador (the Champion) by the Christians, and is considered a national hero in Spain. El Cid is a fun piece piece for a young ensemble and a great way to introduce some “Spanish” harmonies and 16th note syncopations.
